Year 10 Curriculum - PE

Within Year 10 the girls follow a programme of six activities for six weeks throughout the year. These activities include basketball, indoor athletics, fitness, uni-hoc, badminton, handball, rounders, athletics and softball. All activities develop the skills learnt in Key Stage Three.

Assessment : All girls are assessed in each activity and given a level at the end of the programme.

 

BTec Sport

BTEC Sport Level 2 is offered as an option to study in Year 10.  It is equivalent to one GCSE and provides the girls with an opportunity to further develop their knowledge of sport in a practical and theoretical setting.

Assessment - students will be assessed over two-year period, sitting an exam unit and three further units of coursework.  Grades will be awarded with a pass; merit; distinction and distinction star criteria.

 

BTEC Performing Arts (Dance Pathway)

BTEC Performing Arts (Dance Pathway) is offered as an option to study in Year 10.  it is equivalent to one GCSE and provides the girls with the opportunity to further develop their knowledge of dance through a mostly practical setting.

Assessment - students will be assessed through the performance of a set dance piece and a piece students choreograph linked to a theme.  They will complete and exam showing their understanding of dance styles and choreographers.
