Girls visit the John Henry Newman Library at The Oratory

The winning girls that entered the John Henry Newman Competition visited Fr Anton at the Oratory: Megan, Alice, Amneet, Emily, Delina and Bernie.

Fr Anton gave them a wonderful tour of The Oratory before taking them up to the John Henry Newman Library. During his chat with the girls about the many antique books they have collected over the years, he also told them the story of JR Tolkien who had stayed at The Oratory. In fact, Fr Anton told them a very ghostly tale before opening the travelling chest and scaring the girls to death by revealing a mask on the inside that the girls really thought was JR Tolkien's mom.
