Year 7 Curriculum - Food

In Year 7 in Food and Nutrition, students will learn to cook a range of dishes with the aim to develop safe and accurate knife skills, accuracy when weighing and measuring ingredients, working safety and hygenically with food, as well as using the hob and oven to boil, simmer, saute and bake safely. The student’s practical lessons build in difficulty over the term allowing them to gain more confidence in their cooking ability over time.

Students will consider food hygiene and safety and will also study healthy eating and nutrition and will carry out a range of research, investigation and analysis tasks.
